| Having grown up in San Angelo, Terry Gayle
was introduced to Jesus Christ as a senior in high school. He had been
injured in their first game of the season which caused his football career to be
abruptly stopped. God was in this. At a revival service he responded
to a commitment to Christ. Shortly after that, God, in a very clear way,
called him to preach. God used him that same year to affect many high
schoolers and adults.
Terry went to Baylor and then to Golden Gate Baptist Seminary where he met and married Adele Anderson (now "Dee"), and pastored churches for the next twenty plus years in California and Seattle. They retired in 2002 after pastoring the University Baptist Church in San Antonio for approximately 18 years. Whitney, TX, then became their home, to be close to their three grown children and 5 grandkids, all in Fort Worth. Terry, with some others, formed the Open Range Cowboy Church where he stayed as pastor for three years, seeing God's blessing and growth in attendance of up to 500 to 600. Presented with the challenge of beginning a new Cowboy Church in San Angelo, they gladly complied and have now relocated here. |
